Talent Performance
Audition Rules
- All
performers must be current BYU-I students taking at least one credit.
- Each
individual can only audition and perform once in a show unless otherwise
determined. Persons cannot be in
more than one group.
- All
individuals must comply with BYU-I dress and grooming standards and be in
compliance with the BYU-I classroom dress standards. If you wish to wear a
costume to perform, the exact costume must be worn at auditions. No
exceptions or alterations are permitted after auditions.
- Each
group will have only the amount of time allotted on the sign-up sheet to
audition.
- Every
member of the group must be at the audition in order to perform in the
event.
- Acts
must uphold BYU-Idaho standards for content and style. Song and music lyrics (including lyrics
for music used for dance routines) must be turned in to specified place
prior to auditions.
- If
selected, performers must use the act they auditioned with.
- Performer
must arrive at auditions 10 minutes early with information sheets
completed. Arriving late may cause
performers to forfeit their audition.
For special needs or time changes, please work with the event
chairman.
- Absolutely
no altering lyrics of cover songs unless expressly asked by the
manager. Therefore, only songs with
appropriate lyrics should be used.
- All performers must attend a
performer’s meeting and specified sound checks prior to show.
Judging will be based on: originality, technical ability,
appropriateness of selection, stage presence and performance.
