To register your team, go to the RecSports Web site at http://activities.byui.edu/sports, open the window of whatever sport you would like to play, and click on the Rosters link.

  1. ONLY THE TEAM CAPTAIN can create and enter a team. IF YOU CREATE A TEAM YOU ARE THE CAPTAIN BY DEFAULT.
  2. Fill out the Create a New Team forms: From the activities menu select which activity you wish to participate in. Then select which semester you will participate in. Next, select which division you will be in. Lastly, enter your team name and click on create team. If your team is a ward team, your team name must be your ward name.
  3. Online Roster: Now you are in the online roster where you can add or delete team members, get an email list of your team’s players, change your division, and submit schedule conflicts. Add a player by clicking on the “Add a New Player” link, and add them by entering their campus email address, leaving off the "@byui.edu" part.
  4. After all the players have been entered as well as any scheduling conflicts click submit roster. After this has been submitted you can still go back and edit your team by adding players or creating scheduling conflicts (after your first game, you may only add a schedule conflict by contacting the RecSports office).

For questions on how to register online, please refer to the tutorials available. Links to register a team will be available beginning two weeks prior to the start of league play until the entry deadline. Game rules will be distributed at the captain's meeting. Games rules, policies/procedures, etc., are also discussed at the meeting.

Individual and dual activities take on several different styles and tournament structures. Each sport will have information available on the RecSports website and outside Hart 227 three weeks prior to the event.

TOURNAMENTS

Tournaments include all teams who have not forfeited more than two league games. Tournaments that follow leagues are generally single elimination. Weekend events are usually double elimination. Other tournaments are offered from time to time and may be found at http://activities.byui.edu/sports/recreational/events.

AWARDS

Championship t-shirts may be presented to all the "Viking", "Thor", and "Leisure" champions within both Independent and Ward as budget allows.
