The program could not be conducted on a successful level without the services of 40-50 paid and 40-50 volunteer student officials, supervisors, and practicum students. Whether working for pay or completing requirements for a class, the program provides practical training and "hands-on" experience in the organization and administration of the overall program and its activities. None of these jobs will prevent participation on a team. BYU-Idaho is an equal opportunity educator and employer.

Administrative Staff are hired with preference given to those who have been involved in RecSports events as volunteer board members. Only when candidates from board members or officials do not posses the skills and qualifications will the RecSports Program hire Administrators from outside these two venues. Job descriptions are available at the Activities website: activities.byui.edu/getinvolved.

Officials are required to have taken or to be currently enrolled in the sports officiating class. Previous experience as an official is desirable but not required. Evaluation of those taking the class will be done by the Officials Coordinator and the RecSports Student Director.
