General Information

Programs and events in the BYU-Idaho Activities Program are open to all students on campus. Married students have enjoyed a wide range of events and programs in our six Activities areas and we invite married students to continue to explore and participate the programs and events offered by Activities.

In addition to regular programming, we offer activities in each of our six areas planned specifically for married students. The following list shows married student activities that are planned for this semester. Married students are also encouraged to check with their wards and stakes for additional programs and events that may meet their needs and interests.

Married Students Talent

Talent | Country Dancing Workshop Open

Now is the perfect time to learn to country dance. You have a partner and you don’t have to worry about looking silly. The workshop is FREE and is taught by students. Bring your spouse and have a great time.

Married Students Social

Social | Community Garden Project Open

Learn principles of gardening that can be applied in a variety of settings from greenhouse to vertical gardening. Growing and cooking with herbs as well as canning and preserving produce from fall harvest are all part of the workshops that accompany the growing, cultivating, weeding, and enjoying fresh fruits and vegetables throughout the summer.

Many positions for leadership are available for organization and productivity of the gardens from crop manager to harvest party planner. Committee members are also needed to give aid and assistance to managers in each area when needed.

Clean Up

Part 1 of preparation for planting.

Date: Saturday, May 10th
Time: 10:00 a.m.
Location: The Gardens – immediately South and adjacent to University Village Married Housing, entrance located off the new highway.

Info Meeting

Come and learn about the gardening project in full and sign up for opportunities for leadership in the gardens, help determine workshops and schedules for learning about gardening and cooking with garden produce.

Clean Up II

Part two of preparation for planting.

Date: Thursday, May 22th
Time: 3-7 pm
Location: The Gardens – immediately South and adjacent to University Village Married Housing, entrance located off the new highway.

Planting

Come help get the crops in the ground, learn about irrigation and other important elements to get the garden growing.
