Fitness Activities offers a variety of classes and events for married students, including Pregnant/Postpartum group training, stroller walking group sessions on the track, and married ward group fitness training, where couples learn the benefits of a healthy lifestyle. Fitness Activities can also help ward leaders organize fitness sessions for ward members.

Outdoor Activities are all designed for married student involvement. Some of the most popular activities are kayaking, rock-climbing, backpacking, horseback riding, cycling, rafting, and canoeing. Everything offered in the Outdoor program requires that participants pair up—all couples are invited to get involved. Fees are the same for students and non-student spouses.

Service Activities are designed for groups or couples, i.e. blood drive, radio reading, humanitarian projects, Special Olympics, Rexburg Nursing, and the Teton Dam Marathon to name a few.

 

Adopt-a-grandparent is great for married couples with small children as serving together can strengthen families.

Social Activities is open for all students and their spouses. Many married students attend formal or girl’s choice dances in addition to weekly dances. Game nights are popular, along with holiday events such as Halloween Carnival, Thanksgiving pie social, and Christmas Tree Lane activities. Most notably, the Married Student Gardens are created expressly for married students and their families to learn principles of gardening and home food preservation.

Sports Activities invites married students to participate in all events and activities. Recreational sports include married teams specifically for ward leagues with no charge for participation. Competitive teams require $10-$35 fees for participation. Some other activities that are popular include golf scramble, Midnight 5k, tennis tournament, mixed grass volleyball, racquetball, mixed ultimate Frisbee, and mixed roller hockey on the new skating rink.


W3Schools.comSports Activities is also introducing a great family activity for married students: Lawn games and BBQ. Games include horseshoes, pitch’n putt, grass volleyball, bocce ball, slip’n slide, kiddy pool, and croquet. Bring your children to this family-friendly event, July 11.

Talent Activities offers opportunities for all married students to audition, attend, or create shows such as Guitars Unplugged. Exploration activities are popular with married students whether spectators or participants. Make it a date and attend Acoustic Café, Film Festival, ballroom workshops, or swing workshops. As a spectator, most shows cost approximately $2, but the film festival is free!
