Looking for something to do? Come see what is happening in Social Activities. Whether it’s a campus dance or other social event, you’ll find something that will allow you to have fun, connect with other students and build meaningful experiences.

Come enjoy dancing in a great atmosphere. Dances are held regularly on campus, and include everything from formals, weekly dances (Latin, Country, and Swing), and specialty dances.

The Social Events area sponsors fun events planned for everyone on campus. We also sponsor events designed for women, designed to bring our many cultures together in campus wide events, and designed to provide events that meet the needs and wants of students with disabilities. Check out the links below to see what is happening soon.

SOCIAL VOLUNTEER AND LEADERSHIP OPPORTUNITIES

Volunteer Staff- Social

Currently accepting applications for Winter Semester 2010.

Volunteer staff make up the largest group of students who help run Activities. Being a staff member is a great way to get involved, develop skills, meet people and help create exciting events and programs at BYU-Idaho. Volunteers work with managers who oversee the planning, organization and execution of specific events and programs. Volunteers in the Social area can expect to participate 2-3 hours per week on the average. Your Manager may ask you to attend a weekly meeting, depending on the needs of the program/event you chose to get involved with. You may choose to volunteer for such events as the Halloween Carnival, Christmas Tree Lane, Winter Festival, Etiquette Dinner, or other cultural, women’s or married events.

Manager- Social

Currently accepting applications for Winter Semester 2010.

You've probably watched and participated in different activities on campus … now you can run them! Managers build and work with volunteer committees to run specific activities or events. Managers receive training, direction and guidance from coordinators or directors, and then have the opportunity to "act" as they work with volunteer staff to pull events together. Managers also have the opportunity to train and mentor the volunteers they work with. Managers in the Social Events area can expect to dedicate 3-5 hours per week depending on the event you are responsible for. Also, there is a weekly meeting with the Director, Coordinators and other Managers.
