It’s time to get out and about! Idaho offers some of the most beautiful wilderness and recreational areas and Outdoor Activities will help you take advantage of them. Discover the outdoors, or continue to do things you already love.

Outdoor Recreation enables students to enjoy year-round outdoor recreation at all skill levels. Enjoy experiences in kayaking, skiing, ice and rock climbing, backpacking, hiking, mountain biking, canoeing, camping, wagon and horseback rides and more.

The Skills area of Outdoor Activities enables students learn and develop basic to advanced skills that can be used in lifelong outdoor recreation.

Volunteer Staff- Outdoor

Currently accepting applications for Winter Semester 2010.

Weekly Staff Meetings are Monday's at 4:00pm in Hart 155.
Volunteer staff make up the largest group of students that help run Activities. Being a staff member is a great way to jump in and get involved, develop skills, meet people and help create exciting events and programs at BYU-Idaho. Volunteers work with managers who oversee the planning, organization and execution of specific events and programs. Manager- Outdoor

Currently accepting applications for Winter Semester 2010.

You've probably watched and participated in different activities on campus, now you can run them! Managers build and work with volunteer committees to run specific activities or events. Managers receive training, direction and guidance from coordinators or directors, and then have the opportunity to "act" as they work with volunteer staff to pull events together. Student Coordinator- Outdoor

Currently accepting applications for Winter Semester 2010.

Though not involved in the tactical planning and execution of events, coordinators oversee specific programs in Activities and lead, train, counsel and help managers succeed as they run programs and events. In Outdoor, there are coordinator positions for Recreation and Skills.

Student Director- Outdoor

Currently accepting applications for Winter Semester 2010.

As a director, you'll have the opportunity to direct, teach, train, counsel, and provide vision to students who are building programs and events in Activities. In this position you'll learn, stretch, grow and also help grow others. Directors are members of the Student Activities Council, and work with each other to help the Activities Program reach its objectives.

The Outdoor director helps guide the efforts of coordinators for Recreation and Skills as they lead managers in their areas.

Student Area Director- Outdoor

Currently accepting applications for Winter Semester 2010.

A Student Area Director oversees an entire area of Activities. Student Area Directors are primarily responsible for teaching, training and empowering the Student Directors in that area. They also meet with other Student Area Directors to Council about Activities-wide issues.
