Student Leadership and Volunteer Structure

You can help build the Activities program. All the programs and events are built by students for students and we help you build the leadership skills you’ll need to do the job. We need your ideas so apply now. There are thousands of opportunities each semester.
Volunteers (1000+)
Volunteers work to carry out an event or program.
Volunteers operate under the leadership of a Manager. They do everything from take tickets to referee to direct a play.
Managers (150+)
One Manager Works with multiple Volunteers
Managers are responsible for organizing an individual event like Acoustic Café, or an ongoing program like Happy Factory.
Coordinators (60+)
One Coordinator Works with multiple Managers
Coordinators are responsible teaching leadership principles to help Managers motivate and direct their Volunteers.
Directors (14)
One Director Works with multiple Coordinators
Directors have previously served at the Coordinator level. They exemplify leadership qualities as they teach and train.
Area Directors (6)
One Area Director Works with multiple Directors
Area Directors have served previously as Directors. They coordinate and facilitate training for all positions in their Area.

Currently accepting applications for Summer Semester. Weekly Staff Meetings are Monday's at 4:00pm in Hart 170. Volunteer staff make up the largest group of students that help run Activities. Being a staff member is a great way to jump in and get involved, develop skills, meet people and help create exciting events and programs at BYU-Idaho.
