Coed Racquetball Rules
1. Roster cap of 2 players
· Minimum of 1 man and 1 woman needed to avoid forfeit.
2. All participants must wear BYU-Idaho P.E. issue or approved personal athletic attire.
· No caps or bandanas may be worn inside the building and all clothing must be worn in the proper manner. No shorts or pants with pockets, belt loops, or drawstrings that are exposed!
· If a player is clearly in violation of the BYU-Idaho Dress and Grooming standards, they will not be allowed to play. As soon as the problem is taken care of, they are then eligible to play.
· If a person is borderline, by the games management’s judgment, they will receive a warning that will be recorded on the team roster.
3. A match will be best two out of three games.
· The first two games will be rally scoring played to 15 points
o The third game if necessary will be played to 11 points win by 2
· Before the match begins, the two teams will decide the order of service.
o Both players will serve before the serve goes to the other team.
· The objective is to win each rally by serving or returning the ball so the opponent is unable to keep the ball in play
· Points are scored only by the serving side
· In doubles when the first server loses the serve it is called a handout, and when the second server loses the serve it is a side out
· The server may serve from any place in the service zone. No part of either foot may extend beyond either line of the service zone.
· Two service faults will result in a loss of serve.
§ the served ball hitting the ground in front of the service line
§ a served ball that hits the front wall and then the back wall before touching the floor,
§ any served ball that touches the ceiling after hitting the front wall either with or without touching one side wall
· One service foul results in a loss of serve.
§ any served ball that touches the server or touches the server's partner while any part of his body is out of the service box
§ any served ball that strikes the ceiling, floor or side wall, before striking the front wall
· A hinder will result in a dead ball re-serve.
