Temple to Temple Relay

The Temple to Temple Relay starts at the church immediately south of the Idaho Falls Temple and follows paths and side roads to the church immediately west of the Rexburg Temple. This course totals 32.7 miles. (Click here to view course maps.) The relay is open to all Brigham Young University-Idaho students, employees, and their spouses and children. Team captains are responsible to pass on significant relay information to team members.

Before the Race

Runners, register by paying the entry fee at the Ticket Office.
Team Captains, register your team online by submitting the Team Registration Form.
Organize your team.

Edit Team Information add/replace team members and volunteers, enter each team member's estimated time for running 5000 meters, and indicate the order in which team members will run.

Make sure each team member completes and submits an Assumption of Risk Agreement.

Prepare. Train appropriately. Familiarize yourself with the rules. Make sure everyone associated with your team knows what to expect.

Registration and Cost Information

Team Registration

Team captains, register online by submitting the Team Registration Form. When doing so, you select the size of team you are entering (8-person, 4-person, or 2-person).

Registering before August 15, 2009 is strongly encouraged. There will be no registration the day of the race.

Add/Replace Team Members

Once a team has registered online, the team captain has until Sep. 15, 2009 to add/replace team members. To do this, go to Edit Team Information. Once added to your team roster, each team member must read and submit an Assumption of Risk form by Sep. 15, 2009. Note: Teams that register after September 15, 2009 must submit their entire team roster at the time they register.

Refund Policy

Entry fees, less a $15 processing fee, are refundable until August 15, 2009. All entry fees are non-refundable after August 15, 2009.

Team Sizes

Standard Teams - 8 Runners
Standard teams are made up of eight runners. Each member of the team completes one leg of the relay. Legs vary in distance from 2.6 to 5.2 miles, with the average distance being 4.1 miles.

Ultra Teams - 4 Runners
Ultra teams are made up of four runners. Each member of the team completes two legs of the relay back-to-back. The two-leg combinations vary in distance from 6.6 to 8.9 miles, with the average being 8.2 miles.

Duo Teams - 2 Runners
Duo teams are made up of two runners. Each member of the team completes four consecutive legs of the relay. The distance of the first four legs is 15 miles; the distance of the last four legs is 17.7 miles.

Divisions
There are three divisions in each category: Men's, Women's, Mixed. To qualify for the Mixed division, teams must have at least half the relay legs run by women. To be in the Women's division, teams must be all women.

Note: Standard and Ultra teams with fewer runners will be allowed to participate. In such cases, one or more team members run more legs to make up the difference.
